President ED and VP Chiwenga Clash Over Cabinet – Chiwenga Wants Deadwood Out

The military side of the current marriage of convenience in Zimbabwe has been pushing for Mnangagwa to ditch all the deadwood that is currently in cabinet. Sources say Chiwenga has told Mnangagwa that all he was concerned about was delivery and therefore would not tolerate the appointment of ministers that have been proven to be useless.

Mnangagwa is in a catch 22 as on one side he wants to deliver but on the other hand he wants to appease the people who have been galvanising his political base. Chiwenga is said to have been forthright with Mnangagwa that he cared only about delivery and discipline.

Chiwenga has also been adamant that ZANU PF and the government business must be separated. This has created a major rift between the party and the military establishment but as things stand it looks like Chiwenga is going to get his wish.

Sources close to the General have indicated that Obert Mpofu, Ziyambi Ziyambi, Kazembe Kazembe, July Moyo, Simon Khaya Moyo, Jorum Gumbo and Simbarashe Mumbengegwi would be dropped from cabinet.
