A guide at the Kruger National Park South Africa narrowly escaped death when an agitated leopard attacked him.
Curtis Plumb (38) of Nhongo Safari Tours was reportedly taken to hospital for immediate surgery after he was attacked by one of the wild cats whilst on a Kruger National Park game drive, last week.
According to an EyeWitnessNews report, the guide was with about 6 tourists on his Open Safari Vehicle, when he stopped the car to view the leopard. At some point, the cat pounced at their vehicle and caught Plumb’s arm.
In a frantic effort to save his life, Plumb is seen trying to free his arm from the ferocious wild cat’s grip until he eventually manages to escape the clutches of the animal’s claws by reversing the vehicle with the leopard chasing after the car.
Commentators on the report voiced their concerns about the quality of safari tour operators, noting tyhe abrupt measures that Plumb took when he and the people in the truck were facing death. However given the background of another tourist who was mauled to death by a lion during a game drive, it would be unfair for us to judge because one can never know how to respond to a situation which has become increasingly common in the past few months.
Wow this guy is very brave…he did not panick at all…He fought the dangerous animal and there was no one helped him…come on people lets learn to help each other
