Ugandan radio/TV presenter and media personality, Leslie ‘Lee’ Kasumba has resigned from South African-based music cable TV, Channel O Africa. Sources in Multichoice have confirmed that the 34-year-old who worked as Head of Channel O Africa since 2011 spent her last day in the office on January 19, 2015.

Lee (as she is popularly called) joined Channel O Africa in 2011 and has risen to be one of the most influential media personalities in Africa.

Her resignation comes ahead of ROC Nation Africa Launch. Kasumba has in the past denied her joining the label but has however refuelled rumours with recent developments.

‘Hellooooo Broooklyn she says #ItsTheRoc #TBT just a few days cc @obiasika @tolaodunsi’, Lee posted on her Instagram page about 5 months ago.

ROC Nation founded and owned by rapper/entrepreneur Jay Z is said to be launching its imprint in Africa in the first quarter of 2015. The label is being spearheaded by US top executive Briant ‘Bee-High’ Biggs (Jay Z’s cousin, who has been exploring technology investments in Nigeria for a while), Nigerian label owner Obi Asika and music business exec Tola Odunsi.

No word yet from all parties as all seems to be silent. But with photos posted on Lee’s Instagram account showing off ROC Nation merchandise, we might just be seeing the young lady throwing up the ROC sign pretty soon.
