Queen Latifah wows in elegant crimson gown as she and Denzel Washington are recognized at American Black Film Festival Honors

Winner! Queen Latifah received the American Black Film Festival Honors’ Entertainment Icon Award on Friday night in Beverly Hills

She’s one of the most prolific actresses in Hollywood. So it’s not surprising that Queen Latifah received the American Black Film Festival Honors’ Entertainment Icon Award on Friday night in Beverly Hills.

The 46-year-old Hollywood veteran looked radiant as she accepted her award in a bold crimson number.

The sleeveless garment was perfectly draped and fell all the way to the floor.

Accessories included a matching red clutch, gold spangly bracelets on each wrist and a pair of red tassel earrings.

Her caramel tresses were parted on the left and dramatically brushed down past her right shoulder.

Subtle blush, neutral lipstick and heavy dark eye shadow ensured the one time Oscar nominee was ready for her turn in front of the cameras.

The Training Day star looked dashing as always in a classic navy blue suit as he accepted the Hollywood Legacy Award.

Of course there were many other entertainment stars in attendance as well.

Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burress, 40, turned heads in a revealing black dress which featured a very low-cut neckline, cutouts just above the hips and a thigh high split on the left side.

A pair of gold strappy stilettos complemented the garment’s gold trim perfectly.

Husband Todd Tucker apparently opted to coordinate with his mesmerizing wife, choosing a gold tuxedo jacket trimmed in black.

Glam: Empire’s Grace Gealey, 32, turned heads in a barely there black spaghetti strap top, which she paired with a geometric print skirt that fell to her ankles

Work and play together: Her husband and co-star on the series Trai Byers, 33, accompanied her on the red carpet in a sharp all-black suit

Having fun! While the supremely talented Viola Davis, 51, was not slated to receive an award, she did present one

Always stylish: She still drew many an eye with her shimmering, turquoise sleeveless frock, which accentuated her trim but curvy figure

Big names: Actor and recording artist Terence Howard, 47, did receive an award for Excellence in the Arts
