Police this morning arrested former FDC leader, Dr Kizza Besigye, and Kampala mayor, Erias Lukwago, at Sharing Hall, Nsambya in Kampala.

The duo was due to discuss electoral reforms with other opposition leaders.

Lukwago was driven to a destination yet to be identified while Besigye sat in his car as it was towed by a police teargas van.

The arrest came after a face-off between the opposition stalwarts and police led by Kampala South Regional Police Commander, Siraje Bakaleke.

Bakaleke said the conveners of the meeting did not have a letter of authorization from the police.
