Eritrea Celebrates Independence At Milan International Expo 2015
Asmara — Eritrea celebrated the Independence anniversary at Milan International Expo 2015 yesterday. Senior Eritrean government envoys headed by Mr. Woldenkiel Abraha, Minister of Local Government, and the Minister of Tourism, Ms. Askalu Menkerios and Ms. Tekeste Baire, Secretary General of the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers, as well as the Eritrean Ambassador to Italy, Mr. Fisehatsion Petros, took part in the celebration.
In a speech he delivered on the occasion, Mr. Woldenkiel explained that Eritrea achieved independence through long and bitter struggle, and stressed the significance of the Milan Expo as regards exchange of experience in the nation-building process.
The Minister went on to indicate that the Eritrean people and their leadership continue to exert relentless effort in soil and water conservation, in addition to mounting persistent endeavors to develop the agricultural sector.
The Eritrean artistic troupe, Sibrit, presented performances highlighting the richness and cultural diversity of the Eritrean people.
