ANIP Signs US$34 Million Worth Investment Contracts – Angola

Luanda — An amount worth USd 34.5 million (about 3.7 billion kwanzas) is the global value of nine agreements signed Friday by the National Agency for Private Investment (ANIP ).

The contracts provide for investments in the areas of trade services and industry in the provinces of Luanda, Bengo and Benguela (Lobito).

The CEO of ANIP, Maria Luisa Abrantes, co-signed the agreements with Sogester, Sonimech, KB-Agroi, Fabrialimentos, Brasáfrica, Jotun Angola, Rignet Angola, Huanquiu Su and Angata firms.

According to the manager, until the first quarter of this year the signed investment contracts reached at USD 800 million.

From the early this year to date the contracts amounts have already reached 1.100 billion

US dollars.

Praising the figure, the official said that despite the crisis caused by oil price fall at international market the institution has received on a monthly average 16 requests for private investments.

The biggest contract signed today is that of Sogester company worth USD 21. 2 million, almost 2.3 billion kwanzas, for the port sector of the south-west province of Namibe.
