Barack Obama Now Has The Most-Liked Tweet Of All Time

Former President of the United States Barack Obama has been known for many accomplishments over the course of his run as the leader of a White House administration that lasted for eight years. Now, coming off the horrific events that took place last weekend in Charlottesville, VA, and the subsequent press conference blunders that have been executed by current Commander-in-Chief Donald Trump, Obama can add a new milestone to his resume: having the most-liked tweet of all time.

That post on social media, saying that no one is born with innate prejudices in their hearts or minds, has been liked more than 3.3 million times and retweeted 1.3 million times. Those numbers are good enough to eclipse all competition by other celebrity users on the platform.

More importantly, as the most-liked tweet ever, it spreads an unabashed message that people must learn to hate, and that love comes more naturally to the human heart than that aforementioned negative emotion.

Obama quoted Nelson Mandela, spreading it over three separate tweets, to help remind all of his social media followers and, by extension, the world at large that we all have the capacity to overcome our differences and communicate a positive message to one another. Below are the other two tweets that make up the quote.

Speaking of Twitter reaction, Donald Trump’s press conference from Tuesday (August 15th) was the subject of much scorn and ridicule online, with many American citizens criticizing him for somewhat defending White Supremacists, with those who identify with that group making up the vast majority of those who marched in protest in Charlottesville. It’s safe to say that his reign as President has sunk to a new low, with many talk show hosts scrambling to identify his words as, in one way or another, “clinically insane.”

Barack Obama recently celebrated a birthday as well, on August 4th. He’s currently in the midst of making a number of high-profile speaking engagement appearances and also working on new endeavors with his Obama Foundation.
