Trevor Noah Ready To Take Over The Daily Show

Tevor Noah was seen getting his anchor chair ready on The Daily Show in a promotional video released on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old South African comedian will take over as host of the Comedy Central show in September following the recent departure of longtime host Jon Stewart, 52.

The 30-second video featured close-ups of Noah in a dapper grey suit as he prepared to walk on the set of the news parody show.

Noah stretched his knuckles as the Kanye West song Power played and then he strode onto the stage.

‘Same Chair’ a message said as Noah slowly settled into the seat.

‘Different Ass’ the screen read as the comedian lowered the height of the chair.

Noah smiled before a message appeared reading, ‘Introducing The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. September 28’.

Stewart started hosting the satirical news show in 1999 and announced in February that he was leaving.

His last show aired on August 6 and featured appearances by rock legend Bruce Springsteen and comedians Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell.

Noah joined The Daily Show as a contributor in late 2014.

He made his US television debut in 2012 on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and later appeared on Late Show With David Letterman.

Stewart started out as a stand-up comedian and Noah has been performing for the past several years as a comedian after earlier focusing on his radio show and acting.
