‘MISSING’ UPND Cadre Discharged From Hospital

People gather around in Mulobezi to listen to UPND President Hakainde Hichilema during a rally to drum up support for candidate Hastings Sililo.

Opposition Party for National Development cadre Mushaukwa Mushaukwa, who was nursing a gunshot wound at Livingstone Central Hospital has been discharged from hospital.

Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda disputed the opposition political party’s claims that Mushaukwa had gone missing from his hospital bed in Livingstone.

Mushaukwa was shot at on Saturday when suspected UPND cadres allegedly ambushed PF Secretary General Davies Chama’s convoy that was campaigning in the area ahead of the June 30th Parliamentary By-elections.

The UPND through its Legal Chairperson earlier today announced that Mushaukwa had gone missing from the hospital and his whereabouts were not known.

“We wish to announce to the nation that the UPND supporter Mushaukwa Mushaukwa, who was shot by PF Secretary General Davies Chama has mysteriously gone missing from his Livingstone General Hospital bed where he was receiving treatment,” announced UPND Legal Chairperson Jack Mwiimbu earlier on Wednesday.
