UN Draft Agreement, ‘A Unifying Framework That Serves Interest of Libyan People’
Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry said Monday, in Algiers, that the United Nations draft agreement for the settlement of the crisis in Libya is a “unifying framework that serves the interest of the Libyan people” in the face of the country’s challenges.
“The UN draft agreement is a unifying framework that serves the interest of the Libyan people in the face of the country,” said Shoukry in a speech given at the opening of the works of the tripartite meeting on the situation in Libya, adding that Egypt “supports and hails the United Nations’ efforts for the creation of a national unity government in this country.”
In addition, Shoukry underlined that the Algiers ministerial tripartite meeting bringing together Algeria, Egypt and Italy intends to provide answers to the security challenges generated by the situation in Libya.
In this context, the Egyptian minister said that the Libyan people are the only ones to decide their fate within a framework that guarantees the country’s security and stability and preserves its territorial integrity.
