Algeria’s Annual Inflation Rate Continues to Climb to 4.5% in April 2015
Algeria’s annual inflation rate continued to climb to 4.5% in April 2015 against 4.1% in March, the National Statistics Office (ONS) told APS Monday.
In April 2014, the annual rate of inflation hit 1.8%.
The consumer price index, used to calculate the change in the annual inflation rate, has grown by 5.76% in April against 5.5% in March 2015.
On a year-on-year basis, (April 2015-April 2014), the prices of food products rose by 7.37%, 10.74% up for fresh agricultural products and 4.2% for the industrial food products.
The prices of manufactured goods grew by 4.12% in April and the services by 4.84%, according to the latest data from the Office.
In 2014, the inflation rate in Algeria was estimated at 2.9% against 3.3% in the previous year.
