The Sahrawi government stressed Monday that Africa does not need Morocco’s experience in “invasion, aggression, expansion and serious violations to human rights.”

“Africa does not need the experience of Morocco Kingdom’s, which blocks international resolutions and efforts to reach a peaceful and just solution allowing the organization of a self-determination referendum for the Sahrawi people,” the government of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) stressed in a communiqué.
“In a new challenge to international legitimacy, with an arrogant and reckless tone, the King of Morocco reiterated in a speech delivered in the Senegalese capital his willingness to pursue aggression against the Sahrawi people and his intransigence towards the willingness of African peoples and the international community to decolonize the last colony in Africa,” the Sahrawi government deplored, recalling that “Morocco does not recognize international borders.”

The Sahrawi government strongly condemned “Moroccan king’s colonial speech,” stressing that “the Sahrawi people will pursue its struggle to snatch freedom and independence.”

Besides, it issued “an urgent appeal to the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to make pressure on Morocco to comply with the international resolutions on Western Sahara aiming at putting an end to illegal occupation and continuous provocations that lead to further instability and tension in the region,” the Sahrawi government concluded.
