The mother of a kidnapped child is now in good health

The mother of a kidnapped child with albinism, Ms Esther Thomas, has confirmed that her condition is getting better at the Bugando Medical Centre (BMC) where she is admitted after sustaining severe injuries, while protecting her child from the abductors.young sleeping albino girl in sierra leone, africa, on the back of her sister. She has been in hospital bed for about three weeks now. “I am getting better. I am even able to identify people now, can talk and eat. All I can say is that God is great,” she confirmed’.

She took time to tell the bloodcurdling abduction story which left her in pain and unforgettable incident that led to death of her child.Ms Esther explained that unidentified person came into her house and asked to be sheltered under the pretext that it was too cold outside.

To her surprise, at around 8 pm, abruptly the guest forcefully pulled out the child and she only came to learn that other three people were also in the house.

While fighting tooth and nail to rescue her child, the abductors attacked with a machete and ran away with the child. The distressed mother expounded that while the attackers were inside scrambling to grab the child, her husband was taken to an unknown destination by the muggers.

Speaking on the issue, the Hospital’s Head of Emergency Department, Dr Derick David, said that Ms Thomas will be discharged from hospital any time as her condition has remarkably improved.

“Finally, she is now in good health… she can eat and speak,” said Dr David, adding that she will continue to be under the doctor’s close supervision.

The baby was abducted on Sunday February 15, this year and hid disfigured remains were found in Shilabela Mapinduzi sub-village a few kilometres from his home in Ilelema Village.

Reports indicate that the Police found the body in Biharamulo Forest Reserve on February 17, 2015 at around 3 pm with his limbs hacked off. The incident becomes the second within two months in the Lake zone regions.

In December last year, a four-year old girl who was kidnapped in Mwanza Region and is still missing. Available United Nations (UN) statistics shows that more than 70 people living with albinism have been murdered in the East Africa in the past decade, most of them are hacked to death and body parts removed.-AfricaMetro
