Uhuru shielding Waiguru from corruption allegations as part of grooming for 2022 presidency: Alfred Keter

The President is shielding Anne Waiguru from corruption allegations as he is grooming her for presidency come 2022, claims Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter.

Keter further claimed Uhuru’s administration wants DP William Ruto, who is facing crimes against humanity charges at the ICC, jailed to pave way for the Devolution CS.

Regarding his failed attempts to impeach Waiguru over the Sh791 million NYS scandal, Keter reiterated that Uhuru is using the National Assembly Speaker to block him from tabling his motion.

On Wednesday, Keter said despite Parliamentary lawyers approval of the motion, Speaker Justin Muturi has been a “stumbling block” by making “unnecessary demands”.

“Muturi has turned to be the worst Speaker since independence. You cannot compare him to Marende and Kaparo,” he said during a press briefing in Parliament.

The MP further criticised the Jubilee administration for what he termed double standards in dealing with corruption.

“Other cabinet secretaries implicated in corruption cases were advised to step aside to pave way for investigations but when it comes to Waiguru double standards are applied,” he said.

“What happens with this special Waiguru? Unless you, [Uhuru], correct the corruption issues befalling the country at the moment, forget about re-election in 2017.”

He spoke on Saturday at Kitoben village in Kericho county during the burial ceremony of Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto’s nieces, who died in an accident involving Suna West MP Joseph Ndiege’s vehicle.

Keter said corruption allegations rocking the country ultimately put its reputation, not that of implicated individuals, at stake.

Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony accused the National Youth Service of doing a shoddy job at Kapkatet stadium despite being allocated Sh200,000 for its upgrade.

Rutto scoffed at the national government over the allegations of corruption in various ministries and for delaying the disbursement of funds to counties.
