Police in Ndhiwa are looking for a secondary school principal who allegedly stripped naked a 17-year-old form one girl for wearing a miniskirt.
The male principal of Wayaga Secondary School in West Kabuoch location in Homa Bay county is said to have summoned the student to his office on Wednesday last week.
Witnesses said the principal ordered the girl to remove her clothes and when she refused the principal stripped her as a punishment.
The witnesses said some teachers who were in the office pleaded with the principal to give the girl her clothes back but he refused
He instead ordered the girl to go back to class in her pants.
One of the female teachers is said to have covered the girl with a table cloth as she walked out of the office.
Ndhiwa police boss Nixon Makokha said they are searching for the principal who has since gone into hiding.
“The teacher committed an inhuman act to the girl. We are following crucial leads which will enable his arrest him and charge him in court,” he said.
The girl’s father who reported the last week incident to the police said the principal went overboard.
He said the principal should have punished the students in a humane manner.
“It is good to punish a student but this kind of punishment is against the rule of morality,” the father said.
