Four Men Receive Go-Ahead to Sue Tana Governor Hussein Dado
FOUR men have been given the go-ahead to sue Tana River Governor Hussein Dado over the county land board nominees.
The four said the law is discriminatory.
Justice George Odunga certified the matter urgent and directed the parties to appear before him in Nairobi on January 29.
Abubakar Salad, Said Mohammed, Hassan Dokula and Ambassador Omar Baba say the Tana River county assembly passed a disputed list of nominees for membership of the board.
Through lawyer Harold Were, the four say their communities are marginalised.
They argue their ethnic communities have not been afforded a fair chance or opportunity to apply and participate in the appointment of the Tana River County Land Board.
The four want to stop the governor from formerly appointing the nominees.
They say Dado on March 20 last year forwarded to the county assembly clerk names of seven nominees – two Pokomo, two Orma, two Wardey and one Bujuni.
The applicants say Munyoyaya, Malokote and Wata communities were left out.
