National women soccer team, Twiga Stars is expected to move into residential training in Zanzibar from Tuesday, in preparations for All Africa Games (AAG) finals in Congo Brazzaville.

According to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Media Officer, Baraka Kizuguto, the decision to set camp in Zanzibar was reached by the federation’s Executive Committee that met in Dar es Salaam.

Kizuguto said the team’s camp charges will be funded by TFF but said that the committee has ordered the TFF Secretariat to consult with the Tanzania Olympic Committee (TOC) to seek their contributions in preparing the team for the continental quadrennial Games.

In another development, the committee has decided that each regional association in the country will be required to establish sports centre, aimed at developing young talents in football.

Kizuguto said part of the funds accrued from Community Shield Match to pit champions Young Africans and second placed Azam FC will be channelled towards clearing a consignment of sports kits including balls, bips and cones to be distributed to all regional centres in the country.

Meanwhile, the players’ registration window for Vodacom Premier and First Division Leagues will close on Thursday.

“TFF reminds all clubs to complete the exercise early before the close of the window to avoid making panic buy on the deadline day,” Kizuguto said.
